Bouvier des Flandres
![]() The Bouvier des Flandres is friendly, obedient and surprisingly mellow considering its herding-dog genes. A wonderful companion to children, the Bouvier has patience in spades. However, it can be reserved with new people. Protective and fearless, the Bouvier des Flandres is a formidable watchdog. This dog has energy to burn. If you happen to be a dedicated jogger or cross-country runner, it would be a shame to leave the Bouvier at home. It will cherish the exercise and companionship. The Bouvier des Flandres can live as long as 12 years. Generally healthy, some can develop cataracts and hip dysplasia. The Bouvier's thick, rough coat needs daily brushing and professional grooming to stay in shape. Regular attention to the coat will also prevent excessive shedding. ![]() ![]()
